The 2011 Starfire XTREME Cup delivered more than just great soccer. This year, the tournament also helped raise awareness among youth soccer players about a crisis that kills more people than all forms of violence, including war. The crisis is the lack of access to clean, safe water, and it affects nearly one billion people.
Along with the soccer champions in our midst over the weekend, we had youth players that were champions of this important global cause. The highest earning team, Stingrays BU15s, collected over $200 and even contributed their own money. Together with participating teams, we were able to raise over $5,000, which is enough to build a well for an entire village. Visit our campaign page to see all the donations that were made.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s tournament and got involved in supporting the great cause of providing clean water to those in need. Get a complete list of game results or let us know how we did by filling out our 2011 XTREME Cup tournament survey.
