This week’s GOTW comes to us from our Thursday Coed Outdoor 11v11 league. The match features some beautiful goals and stellar saves on both sides of the pitch. Despite a strong showing from Saints, Flying Fish took down the match 6-2.
Game of the Week (4/19/15): Coming from Behind vs. S8: The Ocho
This week’s GOTW comes from our Coed 8v8 Outdoor Soccer League. Both teams had a number of chances, but each were only able to find the back of the net twice. Despite a late onslaught of shots from Coming from Behind, S8 held on for the 2-2 draw thanks to some skilled goalkeeping from our Man of the Match, Branden Griffith.
Game of the Week (4/12/15): Weezers vs. Longshots
This week’s Game of the Week features to veteran teams of our Women’s O30 Indoor Soccer League–Weezers and Longshots. Despite a strong showing from Weezers, Longshots would nick a 8-3. The Longshots win was helped along by Woman of the Match, Michelle Krell, who scored a hat trick!
Game of the Week (4/5/15): Puget Pounders vs. NPFC
In this week’s Game of the Week, NPFC and the Puget Pounders faced off in a rematch from the winter 2015 men’s 8v8 league championship match. Puget Pounders were looking for a little payback after losing out on the finals. However, NPFC would come out on top once again, largely due to a stellar performance from Man of the Match, Kyle Boyden. Will NPFC be repeat champions? Let us know what you think.
S2 Tops T2 2-1 to Win Three Straight
Sounders FC 2 faced a strong Timbers 2 squad tonight in USL play. Heading into the match, both teams were undefeated. S2 was 2-0 after besting 2014 USL Champions Sacramento Republic, and Cascadia rivals Whitecaps 2 at home. T2 held a 2-0-1 record, with a win over Sacramento Republic, and both a win and a draw against Real Monarchs.
Tonight, T2 scored first when a free kick found the head of Harrison Delbridge and then the goal. While S2 had opportunities, including several shots that missed by inches, they found themselves unable to score, sending the game into half-time 1-o in Portland’s favor.
The 2nd half started off with some excitement, as Pablo Rossi converted on a penalty kick awarded in the 47th minute to bring the score level. T2 responded with intensity, but never converted. T2 fate was sealed in the 88th minute when S2’s Giuliano Frano scored a beautiful goal off a lofted pass from Andy Craven. Final: S2 2, T2 1.

Game of the Week (3/29/15): Action Jackson vs. Ninja Elephants
This week’s Game of the Week comes from our Friday Coed C adult indoor soccer league. Action Jackson and Ninja Elephants faced off in a tight battle. Though his team would fall, Bart Perman was named Man of the Match after several key saves kept his team within striking distance approaching the final whistle. In the end, Ninja Elephants would take the game 7-6. Check back next week to see who will be the next Man of the Match/Player of the Week!
Game of the Week (3/22/15): Fireball vs HoneyWhales
Fireball and HoneyWhales faced off in Starfire’s Thursday coed outdoor soccer league for this Game of the Week. Each team played tough in what was their first match of the spring 2015 session, but it was Fireball who pulled of the win. The game ended 3-2 in Fireball’s favor.
S2 Tops WFC2 in USL Cascadia Matchup
In their second game of the regular season, S2 faced off against Cascadia rivals Whitecaps FC 2. S2 dominated the game from the first minutes, and never took their foot off the gas despite holding an early lead. With a hat trick from Darwin Jones, S2 notched a 4-0 win.

Game of the Week (Special Edition): S2 vs Sacramento Republic FC
This week’s special edition Game of the Week features S2’s inaugural match in USL play. S2 faced off against the 2014 champions, Sacramento Republic FC. Despite exciting play with quick attacks, both teams remained scoreless at the half. The second half was another story entirely. Shot flew from both sides, with six goals being scored, and a final of 4-2 in S2’s favor.

Game of the Week (3/8/15): Sinaloa FC vs Pachuca
The competition was fierce in this week’s Game of the Week. Sinaloa FC and Pachuca battled it out in the championship match of our Winter 2015 Men’s C Indoor soccer league. Pachuca demonstrated strong and consistent midfield possession, but failed to capitalize on opportunities in the final third. Meanwhile, Sinaloa FC never took their foot off the gas. Sinaloa kept the pressure high, and landed 4 goals to Pachuca’s 2 to secure the championship win. Make sure to check out the cheeky goal from Sinaloa in the last frame of this recap!
