STEM Classes
Spring 2025 Starfire STEM classes will begin the week of March 31st, 2025 and registration is available online through our DaySmart Recreation platform beginning February 17th, 2025. Full details can be found below.
In 2019, STEM was added to the Starfire Academy to enhance our community support further and build on our vision of creating a thriving community that ensures equitable opportunities and access for all!
The Starfire STEM Academy aims to provide equitable opportunities and access to STEM learning that inspire and empower participants to develop STEM-enabled knowledge, skills, and mindsets needed to thrive in a rapidly changing STEM society. This inclusive program fosters a sense of belonging and enables all youth to participate meaningfully and feel valued for who they are.
Pre-K & Kindergarten (45-minute classes), $200/person for 10 weeks. Available classes:
Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays, beginning Tuesday, April 1st.
Our pre-K and Kindergarten STEM class is designed to foster curiosity and give a basic introduction to STEM concepts to students preparing for or just starting their educational journey. Topics and activities will change week to week as we rotate through science, technology, engineering, and math.

1st-6th Grade (60-minute classes), $237.50/person for 10 weeks. Available classes:
Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays, beginning Tuesday, April 1st.
Explore the world of weather and natural disasters in our 10 week STEM class. In this class, students will learn about weather phenomena, explore atmospheric science, and study how natural disasters can be affected by and affect the weather. Over the course of these 10 weeks students will learn about topics like the water cycle, wildfires, volcanoes, hurricanes, and more! Sign up now to be a part of our Spring STEM class.
Our all new Coding Class is designed for the students that want to work on the computer and code different things that they build themselves. This class is self-paced and students will be able to choose their own projects from choices including video game coding, Lego building and coding, and more. Under the supervision of our Mentors, students will expand what they know about coding and use their creativity and ingenuity to master coding.
