Starfire Sports is incorporated into the State of Washington as a non-profit corporation and is designated as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization by the IRS.

The mission of Starfire Sports is to inspire, encourage and empower youth participation in sports through world class facilities and programs that embody the Guiding Principles upon which our company was founded. Starfire will create a regional center of athletic excellence that will provide youth of all means, color, and race with the opportunity to participate in the highest quality soccer and softball programs, as well as after school activities. Through these programs, we intend to cultivate future athletic champions and social leaders.

Facilities Lead Specialist

Reports to:               Starfire Facility Manager (SFM)
Position Type:          Non exempt
Starting Wage:          $16 per hour
Hours:                     40 per week
Fringe Benefits:       Yes

Basic Duties:

  • Perform facility maintenance and cleaning tasks throughout the complex
  • Organize and lead facility maintenance and cleaning project teams
  • Supervise and train field specialists
  • Assess field specialist performance and attitudes daily and report to SFM
  • Assess facility maintenance and cleaning needs daily and report to SFM
  • Coordinate with Guest Services and other Starfire staff priority maintenance and cleaning tasks
  • Assist facility manager with organizing maintenance and cleaning projects
  • Attend 2nd language (Spanish or English) self-guided training 1.5 hours per week
  • Attend group lunch 2 times per week

Requirements:                

  • Three years in maintenance, lawn services, or sports/park facility maintenance
  • Highly organized, attention to detail, takes personal initiative, completes all work with high quality
  • Consistent positive attitude
  • Motivated with ability to work individually or with others -  on a team, or leading a team
  • Ability to operate lawn and farm equipment/other commercial maintenance skill
  • Ability to work strenuously for long periods of time and lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Ability to carry an extension ladder for 50 yards
  • Exceptional customer service attitude
  • Good oral and written English skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and shifts
  • Criminal history background check

Desired skills/experience:         

  • Scheduling and supervisory experience
  • Spanish language proficiency
  • Commercial painting experience or education
  • Equipment maintenance experience or education
  • Specific trade certifications (i.e. electrical, mechanic, etc.)

Starfire Sports, the premier athletic complex in the Northwest, is now hiring part-time Guest Services Team Members.  Shifts would typically consist of a combination of the following hours: Monday through Friday 3pm – 12am, Saturday & Sunday 7am – 11pm. To qualify for a position you must be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours availability per week during the designated shifts.

The Guest Services position is integral to the success of Starfire’s mission and programs as the team represents ‘The Face of Starfire’; the first person visitors, customers, participants and all other interested parties will interact with upon visiting our facility.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting guests (either in person or over the phone) and answering any questions they may have; which may include enquiries addressing field availability, tournaments, programs, classes, camps and other events Starfire may host from time to time
  • Cash handling with relation to field rentals, membership sales, camp, class & league registrations
  • Assist in the resolution of field utilization issues including conflicts and unauthorized use as they transpire
  • Concessions operations
  • Enforcement of the Athletic Complex rules and regulations to ensure the safety, security and enjoyment of all guests
  • Actively promote and sell Starfire programs
  • Pride and ownership of the facility to ensure we continue to be truly “World Class”
  • Effectively demonstrating and communicating our Mission Statement and Guiding Principles to all visitors
  • Resolve any and all customer issues that do not require the attention of Senior Management
  • Support the Senior Management Team from time to time with assistance on special projects

required Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to work with guests of all age ranges and ethnicities
  • Able to answer questions and retain information in a fast paced environment
  • Great team player who is committed to working with their fellow employees to make Starfire Sports the premier athletic complex in the United States

  • Basic computer skills (MS office and online asp software)
  • Ability to focus and get the job done despite distraction or adverse circumstance
  • Spanish language skills a plus

Pay rate is $10.00/hr with future potential for an increase based on performance. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid driver's license, be legally permitted to work in the United States and provide documents substantiating this status. All employees are required to undergo both a Washington State and United States Federal criminal background check prior to commencing work.

Indoor Referees  Back to Top

Starfire Sports’ referee recruitment is open to all applicants meeting the minimum requirements: applicants must be at least 16 years of age, must have current USSF certification, and must clear a Washington State Background Check.

Referee duties include officiating assigned games for adult and youth recreation league and tournament play; observe actions or players, regulate play, ensure guidelines, rules and sportsmanship are enforced; make qualifying decisions and resolve disputes between players and teams quickly and fairly; and perform other necessary duties of a referee.

Salary Range: $9.00 - $15.00 / game (DOE)
